Culture Week

This February, we are encouraging all clubs to get involved in a new initiative to highlight and champion diversity and cultural awareness within our clubs. We want to encourage our members to feel confident in showcasing the different regions that they may originate from, have family in or just feel passion towards. By highlighting cultural diversity, it gives us all a chance to recognise and value the contribution that culture makes to our lives.

With this in mind, No Name Club are launching our very first ‘Culture Week’. This exciting new club activity will take place during the week of February 26th to March 1st.

We would like all clubs to provide a platform for members to celebrate their cultural heritage, showcase their talents and creativity and promote cultural diversity. This can be done in various ways, for example: - a display of traditional foods, music, art, dance, costume, traditions and much more.

Our usual club nights during Culture Week, should take the form of individual group presentations on a particular culture. Members can bring in some items/information, lay it out on a designated table and then give a short presentation about it. Members can be divided into 3 or 4 groups, where they can then choose a culture to learn a bit about and present it to the rest of the group, don’t forget Irelands rich cultural heritage of course!

This is an excellent activity to promote important life skills such as teamwork, delegation, organisation and research.

It will be great fun getting to know each other's cultural heritage and we will all gain more knowledge about other countries and their traditions.
