Introduction:

I started my involvement with No Name Club in 2002 as an employee when NNC was first awarded funding. I worked with Eddie Keher and was later joined by Dominica Healy. I have experience of youth work, volunteering and Board Membership, not just in No Name! but in the wider community sector.


Career History:

As a parent and community volunteer, I quickly realised that unless you have a qualification then you are not likely to be offered any employment no matter how much experience you have so I entered UCC as a mature student in 1998.

I was employed by Mná Feasa, a domestic violence community project in 2002 to work with women victims but also to implement a Schools Programme which we delivered as a preventative to students, teachers, communities and other groups. I did this until my retirement in 2021.

I was a Development Officer with No Name Club from 2002 to 2005. I also lectured on the UCC Youth and Community Diploma Course from 2004 to 2018.

I have been on the Board of No Name Club since 2006. I have a B. Soc Sc. (Youth & Community) from UCC and I have various other skills/qualifications including:

  • Certificate in Preventing Abusive Relationships (Drogheda Refuge)

Eugene O’Keane

Chartered accountant.

Eugene has served on the boards of a number of financial institutions and charities.


Introduction:

Eugene has over 40 years industry experience in both Ireland and the USA. He currently principal director of Platinum Advisors Limited where he acts as part time CFO, mentor and strategic advisor to a number of SMEs and microenterprises.


Career/education:

Eugene has worked for a number of large international companies including Royal Bank of Canada, Munich Re, Standard & Poor’s and Price Waterhouse. He has a Masters in Business and  Management Coaching from UCC and a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Institute of Directors. He is also a graduate of Business Studies from Trinity College Dublin.

Introduction:

I have been involved in No Name Club since my teenage years, volunteering with a few different clubs in Dublin before re-joining Kilkenny Club in 1999. I have been a trustee since 2010, and through my work in a community focused department of a global Financial Services company I bring finance and governance skills, along with charity sector experiences to No Name Club.


Career History:

I started work as a Fund Accountant with State Street in 2001, after a number of years as a Senior Bank Official with AIB Bank. In 2007 I started working with State Street Foundation, responsible for all community activity in Ireland. In 2012 I became responsible for all grant making in Europe, and in 2021 I became the Global Grant Manger, responsible for all global grant making by the State Street Foundation outside of their Headquarter city of Boston, USA, overseeing a c$25million annual budget.

I am currently a member of the National Advisory Group on the development of a government policy in philanthropy in Ireland, chaired by Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development, Joe O’Brien TD.


Board service:

I have been an adult volunteer with Kilkenny No Name Club for a long number of years, and a trustee of No Name Club since 2010. As a trustee I have served as Treasurer, and Chair of Events. I currently sit on the policy committee and actively support the Youth Council.

Shane Doyle

Professional occupation:

Structured Lecturer, Head of Research School of Architecture, Building and Environment (SABE) at TU Dublin.

Introduction:

Dr Garrett Keenaghan’s professional experience is in the areas of building engineering and project management. He is a PHD graduate of the Faculty of Industrial Design, Department of Cyber Physical Systems, Technological University of Delft in Holland. He is now Head of SABE research continuing coaching and research work in the School of Architecture, Building and Environment in TU Dublin while also a Director of the Virtual Building Lab which is a TU Dublin spin out company.


Career History:

Prior to commencing his career in academia Garrett was employed as a building services design, project and technical sales engineer in private industry. In 2005 Garrett became Assistant Head of the Department of Construction Management at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). In 2011 he progressed to becoming Head of Department and continued in this role until 2018 when he took up his current position as Head of Research in SABE at TU Dublin. Dr Keenaghan’s main research area is developing virtual representation of real-world objects, primarily using game engine tools and open source software for use in the virtual classroom in construction and engineering. More recently he has been involved with PhD and industry-based research around Historic BIM workflows based on data capture (laser Scanning etc.) and the creation of Virtual heritage models.


Board service:

Garrett has been a No Name Club (NNC) volunteer at Hollywood No Name for over 10 years. He continues to volunteer and currently holds the office of Treasurer for Hollywood NNC. He was elected to the NNC Board of Directors in September 2022 and holds the position of Chairperson. Dr Keenaghan has played an active role in helping young people develop both personal and professional skills. In 2005 and 2007 he volunteered to be part of the Irish World Skills Team and took on the role as Chief Expert to coach, train and mentor young school leavers who had chosen to embark on a skilled apprenticeship programme. For his efforts he managed to coach the 2005 Gold Medal winner of World Skills competition and again in 2007 he coached another young competitor to win a Bronze Medal at the World Skills Competition.

Introduction:

I began my No Name Club journey as a hostess with Kilkenny No Name! Club and have been involved with the club for over 20 years. My expertise is in Education in particular education of young people with additional needs and ensuring the voices of students are heard.


Career History:

After graduating from Mater Dei Institute of Education (DCU) I began teaching English and Religion in 2006. In 2012 my teaching path changed when I began teaching in Holy Child Community School Sallynoggin Co. Dublin. I became a member of the Special Education Needs Team in Holy Child in 2014 and I completed the Graduate Diploma in Inclusive Education, Learning Support and Special Education in DCU in 2017. I took up the role of Behaviour for Learning Teacher in Holy Child 2017. From 2018 until I left Holy Child in 2022 I was in the role of Assistant Principal as Programme Coordinator. I oversaw the coordination and implementation of the Behaviour for Learning Programme, Transition Year Programme, Leaving Certificate Applied Programme and the Junior Certificate Schools Programme. In September 2022 I began teaching in the Special Education Needs Department in Kilkenny City Vocation School.

I have been an adult volunteer with Kilkenny No Name Club for a long number of years, and have been on the Board of No Name Club since 2012. As a trustee I have served as Secretary to the Board of Directors and as a member of the Events Committee. I currently act in an advisory capacity to the company secretary and I actively support the NNC National Youth Council.

Introduction:

Tomás Richardson is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse background and a strong commitment to his community in County Wicklow, Ireland. As the founder and CEO of Europrint Wicklow, a leading printing company based in Wicklow, Ireland, he has established himself as a visionary entrepreneur and a trusted expert in the field.


Career History:

Prior to founding Europrint Tomás was a sales executive for one of Ireland’s leading Ford dealerships. Tomás’s dedication to delivering outstanding results for his clients has earned him a reputation for excellence. Today he continues to work closely with businesses of all sizes, providing tailored printing solutions that meet their unique needs and exceed their expectations. Beyond his expertise in printing, Tomás is also a strong advocate for sustainable practices in the industry. He constantly explores eco-friendly alternatives and implements environmentally responsible processes within Europrint Wicklow.

Tomás Richardson has been an integral part of the No Name Club, dedicating his time and efforts to support and empower young people in their personal growth and development. As a mentor and advocate, he has worked closely with club members, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where they can express themselves, build self-confidence, and develop leadership skills. Tomás’s commitment to the No Name Club extends beyond his mentorship role. He actively participates in organising and coordinating club activities, events, and fundraisers, helping to create memorable experiences and opportunities for young people. His dedication to the club’s mission of promoting healthy lifestyles, resilience, and social responsibility has made a lasting impact on the lives of many individuals within the No Name Club community.
