Volunteer showcases No Name Club

March 28th, 2011

Mountbellew No Name Club volunteer Niamh Nestor is showcasing the volunteering work she is doing with the organisation through an exhibition that is travelling to 20 higher education institutes across Ireland. Niamh, an adult committee member with Mountbellew No Name Club, is a student at Froebel College of Education and her work is being showcased to students to encourage them to get involved in volunteering. Campus Engage, the network for promotion of civic engagement in higher education, decided to celebrate the European Year of Volunteering 2011 by highlighting and promoting student volunteering across Ireland.

Niamh tells those attending the exhibition: “I volunteered with the No Name Club. It’s an organisation providing a fun, safe environment where the youth of our community can gather without the pressures of drugs and alcohol. I help to organise and run events. We do lots of activities, from discos to table quizzes.”

Pictures of Niamh attending the launch of the ‘We Volunteer’ exchibition can be viewed below.
