Supertalent: A celebration of youth talent

Supertalent 2011 brought out wonderful displays of talent as No Name Club hosts and hostesses took to the stage for a massively succesful event. Exceptional performing skills were on show in The Garda College, Templemore, as club members took to the stage to sing, play instruments, dance and perform comedy routines. The film making skills of hosts and hostesses were also highlighted through films they made for the event.

Supertalent 2011 took place on Saturday, May 14th and brought over 20 clubs from all over Ireland together to watch the performances. Around 600 young people and their adult leaders were treated to a day of outstanding entertainment and variety as the exceptional performing abilities of teenagers from communities around Ireland were on show. Carole Goulding, No Name Club Chairperson, spoke at the end of the event and said it was “wonderful to see all the talent here today”. Speaking to the audience, she added: “Thanks so much for such an entertaining afternoon; you were absolutely brilliant.”

Angela Teahan of the Road Safety Authority offered her congratulations to all who participated in the event and encouraged all the clubs and hosts and hostesses to embrace the No Name Club/Road Safety Authority partnership which will come together once again for the year ahead.

The judges thanked all the acts for a wonderful day and described the quality of the performances and the variety of acts as “very impressive”. They said there was only one or two points between each decision, with the performances all being of such a high standard.

Thanks to the judges and all the participants for their time and dedication. Thanks also to the adult leaders and those who travelled to support Supertalent 2011. We are very grateful to the Road Safety Authority for their continued support and An Garda Síochána for the partnership we have entered into with them that has seen us use the excellent facilities they have to offer in Templemore.
