This weekend sees the commencement of Supertalent 2011, the No Name Club competition that sees teenagers from communities throughout Ireland take to the stage to sing, dance, make people laugh and perform.
Hundreds of teenagers will see hours of rehersal and practice come to fruition at the regional finals of the competition that are commencing this weekend and also over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday March 26th and 27th. The finals promise to showcase the finest talents that teenagers have to offer around the country and to entertain those in attendance.
First off the mark will be clubs from the East, who will get together at Fatima Hall in Baltinglass, Co Wicklow on Saturday March 12th for their final. The following day, it will be the turn of clubs from the south to participate and their final will be held at Fermoy Youth Community Centre in County Cork.
The West final is being held over two days, on Saturday and Sunday March 26th and 27th at Ballinrobe Community School.
Club hosts and hostesses will take to the stage at each of the finals and perform in front of their peers from clubs throughout their region. They will be competing in 11 categories:
- Modern Band
- Comedy/Novelty Act
- Female Singer
- Male Singer
- Modern Dance
- Group of Singers
- Irish Trad Band
- Solo Musician
- Musical Cameo
- Two minute film
