Shannonside’s icey venture

It’s been a busy few weeks for Shannonside No Name Club and the eventful run-up to the Christmas period will culminate in a trip to Killarney by 30 club members to go ice skating. The club is based on the Kerry Limerick border and is travelling south to Killarney On Ice on Friday, December 17th. Around 30 teenagers will be braving the ice and looking to stay on their feet during the trip.

The club recently went on a pre-Christmas shopping trip to Dublin. Members made the long journey to Dundrum Shopping Centre to do some purchasing ahead of the festive period. To break the long journey, it stopped off on the way to and back from Dublin and these stops resulted in snowball fights that brought great fun to the club’s teenagers and adults.

In early November, Shannonside’s members were busy packing bags to raise money for their club. They spent the day of Saturday, November 6th at the Supervalu in Listowel and raised €1,168 to purchase club t-shirts and meet the cost of expenses. Well done to all involved.
