Newbridge looks to careers

For No Name Club hosts and hostesses around the country, the prospect of moving onto further education or into the workforce is on the horizon. Newbridge No Name Club are working with their members to prepare them for life after school. On Friday May 27th, around 15 hosts and hostesses will travel to a careers night in Milltown, Co Kildare. The night, which is being held in Milltown GAA Club, will provide the teenagers with information on filling out a CAO form, advice on CV preparation, and advise them of the skills and techniques that are helpful when seeking job interviews.  The hosts and hostesses will also be advised on what they should consider when they are looking towards further education and their career prospects.

This is the second careers night the club has attended in recent weeks, with both having been run by An Óige Milltown. The first night, which was held in early May, allowed the 13 hosts and hostesses who travelled to it to speak with a teacher, garda, firefighter, judge and accountant about their professions, the skills involved, and the highs and lows they encounter in their work.
