Melleray: A weekend of activity and fun

An excellent few days of fun and activity were enjoyed by over 200 No Name Club members from all over Ireland at the organisation’s Melleray weekend 2010. Teenagers from a number of No Name Clubs stayed at Mount Melleray Scout Centre within the Knockmealdown Mountains from Friday November 19th to Sunday November 21st and made full use of the facility and the surroundings to enjoy a weekend of games, activity and recreation.

As well as participating in outdoor activities, the teenagers enjoyed the excellent facilities the Scout Centre had on offer. These included pool tables, table tennis, air hockey tables, indoor climbing and a Lazer Game Room. Determined not to miss out on the latest performances, the X-Factor was enjoyed by club members on Saturday night before a very successful disco brought the people from all the clubs together. As ever, friendships were formed and there was a great buzz about the centre as the young people had a very enjoyable few days participating in indoor and outdoor activities and just enjoying themselves and having fun.

The Melleray Weekend has been a very important date on the No Name Club calendar for a number of years and is about bringing members together for a weekend of friendship and fun. We are very grateful to Scouting Ireland for the use of their premises for the weekend.
