Meet The Finalists 2010

tanyaTanya Friel – Donegal Town NNC

Tanya is in 4th year and is currently working towards getting the Bronze Medal for Gaisce.  She is a keen sportsperson and has won multiple awards for Basketball, Athletics and Football.  As well as having a part-time job she is also involved in Donegal Drama Circle.  Tanya participates in the Gambia Schools Project and was also involved in Donegal Town Halloween Mardi Gras.

shaneShane Dunne – Finglas NNC
Shane has been involved in his Club since its re-formation early 2008, he is a keen sportsman and hopes to pursue a career in Physical Education.  He is also ambitious to travel as much as possible and experience other cultures while living abroad.  He is very interested in music, DJ’ing and creating music electronically.  Shane enjoys outings and discos with his club and also took part in last year’s Super Talent.

allayAllay Doherty –Athboy NNC

Allay is a fifth year student and enjoys singing, acting & dancing and would love to follow her career in these areas.  She has enjoyed playing a leading role in a production of Fiddler on the Roof.  She has released two CDs and donated the proceedings to Charity.  She is very involved in her local Club and has recently participated in a driving course.  She has been involved in “best buddies” for 2 years and finds this experience very rewarding.

niallNiall Walsh – Ballinrobe NNC

Niall is currently in Transition Year.  His hobbies include Art & Design, Acting and Working with Horses and hopes to study Equine Science with an aspiration to establish a Stud Farm in the future.  Niall has won numerous awards for Art including competitions in various newspapers.  He played the lead role in the Musical Cameo Super Talent competition last year and was involved again for this year’s competition.

Niamh is currently in Leaving Cert.  Her hobbies include music, dance, singing and she also plays football and soccer.  Her voluntary activities include playing soccer with the Special Olympics Kerry Stars.  She is this year’s Youth Liaison Officer and enjoys organizing Disco’s and Charity Events with her Club.  Niamh was very involved in her Clubs participation in this year’s Super Talent Competition.

grahamGraham Sweeney – Achill NNC

Graham is currently in Leaving Cert.  His main hobby is surfing which is the area he hopes to pursue his career around, Graham also plays guitar and drums in his band and they are hoping to play gigs around the country this summer.  Other areas he is interested in are Jet Skis, Mountain Boarding, Surf Board making and Car Restoration.  He is also Chairperson if the Greens Committee in his school.

hollyHolly McAndrew – Erris NNC

Holly is currently a 5th year student.  She enjoys music, singing and playing soccer.  Among her numerous achievements are winning an Academic Award last year and also several singing competitions.  She is very involved in her clubs campaigns Anti- Litter and Road Safety and is helping out with the new Sports Centre for Erris NNC.

joe-shineJoe Shine – Dungarvan NNC

Joe is currently in 5th year, he won an award for being one of the top three for Junior Cert in 2009.  He is an accomplished sportsman, playing both U16 and Minor.  Joe enjoys swimming and also teaches younger children.   He has completed the Sean Kelly Cycle Tour of Waterford and enjoys Golf.  He is both a County and Provincial Cross Country Runner.  Joe hopes to study Biomedical Engineering having gained work experience with Microchem Labs
