Killarney Road Safety Meeting

November 5th, 2010

Killarney No Name Club will be bringing the issue of Road Safety to the local community this coming Tuesday, November 9th. The club has organised a public meeting surrounding the issue and guest speakers from the Garda Traffic Corps, the HSE and the Fire Service will be speaking at the gathering. It follows on from engagement the Killarney NNC has had with the Road Safety Authority in recent weeks.

The event will also see the launch of a road safety competition that the club is running at local level. The club is asking young people within the community to design a poster that highlights the issue of road safety with Killarney. Three prizes will be on offer for the competition with the first being an ipod Nano, the second a €50 voucher, and the third €25. Adults and young people are being encouraged to attend a meeting that will highlight an issue that far too often results in unnecessary death and broken lives. The club’s hosts and hostesses have invited many of their peers through letters they have sent to local schools and high visibility jackets will be given out to people on the night.

The meeting is taking place at the Dromhall Hotel, Muckross Road, Killarney and will begin at 7.30pm.
