Killarney Disco and Theatre Visit

These are busy times for Killarney No Name Club. The Kerry club recently made a visit to the theatre to view a play that looked at life as a teenager today, and it is now preparing for its monthly disco this coming Friday, April 15th. The following day, it will make the journey to the National Youth Awards in Kilkenny to support club hostess Jemma Murhill, a finalist at the awards.

The disco is taking place in McSorley’s Nightclub, Killarney and will run from 8pm – 11pm. It promises the best in pop, dance, rap and r’n’b music and as with all its monthly discos, an excellent turnout and a fun night is expected. Admission will cost €8.

On Friday April 8th, 34 members of the club travelled to Siamsa Tíre, the National Folk Theatre and Arts Centre, to watch a performance of F*ck My Life. The play asks what it is like to be a teenager today and asks how you become a happy one. It questions what drives teenagers to profound sadness and casts an eye on the lives of 15 young Corkonians. Anne Nagle of Killarney No Name Club described the event as “excellent” and said the feedback from the members of the club is they want to attend shows such as that featured. The show is interactive and those performing on stage interacted with club members, in particular host Jason Lyne.
