Arts events in Mayo

Mayo County Council’s arts office is running a series of arts events throughout the county during the month of November and is engaging with No Name Clubs to highlight sessions of interest to our members. It is all part of Excel 2010, a youth arts programme, and two events in particular have been highlighted for the teenagers involved with No Name Clubs.
On Thursday, November 18th, a Creative Careers Day will run from 2pm to 6pm. It is taking place at the TF Royal Hotel and Theatre in Castlebar and will provide young people with an opportunity to talk to people who work in creative industries on a one-to-one basis. This will include writers, film makers, musicians, DJs, sound engineers and architects.
The following day, Friday November 19th, two talks are taking place on preparing an arts portfolio. The two sessions will take place at 9.30am and 11am. This should be of particular interest for young people interested in going to arts college.
More information about Excel 2010 is available from the Mayo County Council website.
