10th Graduation Ceremony in Claremorris No Name Club

October 21st, 2011

On Friday the 14th October, Claremorris No Name Club held it Annual Graduation Ceremony for its Hosts & Hostesses. From 7.30pm Parents, Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles gathered in The Dalton Inn Hotel to witness the graduation of last years Hosts & Hostesses & the welcoming of this years new Hosts & Hostesses.  A marvellous night was had by all. Host Kieran Walsh & Hostess Olivia Dixon opened the night in welcoming everybody to their graduation & gave a brief introduction to the Claremorris No Name Club. This was followed by some traditional music performed by three of our Hostesses, Rachel Rose Murphy, Eadaoin Ní Mhaicín, & Eleanor Roe, who are the No Name Club All Ireland Traditional Group winners. Fr. Peter Gannon gave a special blessing for all the Youth.  This was followed by speeches by local dignitaries, Councillor Richard Finn, Claremorris Chamber of Commerce Vice President Jimmy Flynn & local Garda Kieran McGrath, who all spoke about the great facilities & the work that the No Name Club does for the youth around the Claremorris area.  Two of our Hostesses, Maude Cosgrove & Jenny McGreal spoke of the fun year they had which included taking part in the No Name All Ireland Super Talent, meeting other No Name Clubs, attending the No Name National Youth Awards & Ball & the Claremorris No Name trip to Alton Towers. Hostess Niamh Walsh reeled in the year with a display of pictures taken throughout the year at different events.  Claremorris No Name Club Chairperson Sean Kenna gave an emotional speech thanking the Hosts & Hostesses for a wonderful year filled with adventure & laughter. He declared ‘we are always sorry to see you go, especially those of you who have spent numerous years with us’ & wished them all the very best for their futures. He welcomed the new Hosts & Hostesses for the coming year & with their help, they too will have a fun packed year with lots of activities & a few surprises along the way.  Sean also thanked James & Patricia Kean for the use of their premises for our No Name Youth Centre, without this centre our club would not be the success it is.  Sean also thanked the Adult Committee Con Nolan, Ann Whittle, Áine McGrath, Fr. Peter Gannon, Dee Slattery, Brian Finn, Noelle Noonan & Caroline Kenna, for their hard work & commitment that they give to the club.  He was delighted to introduce new members on to the committee, Paddy Burke, Jimmy Coen, Linda Kenna & Angie Corley, who are all ex Hosts & Hostesses & who would now like to play their part in the running of the club.

The evening finished with refreshments, which gave a chance for parents to meet the adult committee & to learn more about the Claremorris No Name Club.

The graduation was followed by a disco in the Dalton Inn for all our Hosts & Hostesses & a great night was had by all.

The Claremorris No Name Club would like to wish all our Hosts & Hostesses who graduated all the best in the coming years, & to remember our door is always opened for you to drop in for a chat.
